As some listeners may know if you have been listening to 321 Biz Development episodes for a few years…and thank you for your support, I have been producing white-collar business owner content for about 4 years.
About four months ago, I applied to upload business episodes to a high profile podcast network and got accepted by iHeartRadio Podcast and Pandora in addition to platforms 321 Biz Dev podcast was already listed like iTunes, Spotify, Google Podcast and about 10 others.
About one month ago, I decided to merge two business development philosophies:
White-collar professionals should take active role in contacting and prospecting (strong advocate)
Traditional advertising costs way too much and generates less than 1% of required business revenue.
Listeners may say 321 episodes are critical to advertising and now I’m being a hypocrite. Not so fast.
I’ve always said the following:
Marketing companies exist to make tons of money and, unfortunately, generate little to no new business for small business owners
Business owners receive very unfair to no ROI (return on investment) after "investing" so much money.
As a consulting firm, my goal is to always seek solutions for business owners. That’s the main reason why I started 321 Biz Dev. And I’ve kept that promise to deliver affordable, effective sales system training and business development services EVEN when I could have followed the herd and just took advantage of business owners.
Many business owners see marketing programs, sometimes, as the only method to sell more products and services. As a former Fortune 500 sales manager, I already knew 99% of marketing programs do not work for small business owners. Marketing programs are effective for selling popular items like mobile phones, cruise ship travel packages, premiere movies, etc.
A strong argument for business owners, as a more affordable and predictable option, can be for podcasting. 321 Biz Dev can feature products and services promotion on the 321 Biz Development podcast.
Unlike social media posts, business owners have ready access to the recorded podcast episode links and can forward links to prospective clients. With social media, post are buried in the stack of millions of digital ads, most never to seen again. Podcast episodes are more intelligently stacked in chronological lists.
Business owners can download episode links and upload the audio content to their own websites. We at 321 Biz Dev also encourage business owners sharing these links with friends and colleagues especially if the 30-minute interview segment, below, is selected.
So what’s the plan with offering white collar professionals the opportunity to promote their businesses on 321 Biz Dev podcast? Here is our general policy for ads:
We reserve right to accept or deny any product or service we deem at our full discretion, harmful to our listeners and clients’ reputations. 321 Biz Dev ads will not be political in nature to endorse or denounce any politician. 321 Biz Dev just wants to help business owners make their products or services more visible to the public.
Here are the following business promotion offers:
Sixty-second slots for $35 to small business owners, upon acceptance of your business products and services. Business owners provide the message and 321 will record and insert message at the beginning and end of the episode. The episode header will show your business name, logo, website and phone number.
Sixty-second slots for $60 to small business owners, upon acceptance of your business products and services. Business owners will record their own promotions to be inserted at the beginning and end of the episode. The episode header will show your business name, logo, website and phone number.
Thirty-minute interview segments for $200, upon acceptance of your business products and services. The episode header will show your business name, logo, website and phone number.
Six-minute slots for $300 available to white-collar professionals to record podcast ads and 321 prospects for appointments using podcast ads. The podcast ads run for 30 calendar days unless white-collar professionals renew ad. Other terms apply.
All ads, except six-minute slot are permanent on the episodes. We recommends creating one-time ads without pricing or expiration dates for discounts. Business should consider promoting high level information about products and services.
And here’s some exciting news! Existing 321 Biz Dev white-collar clients (attorneys, CPAs, dentists, plastic surgeons, insurance brokers and real estate brokers) get ad promotion slots or time at no additional cost.
